Huajiao Zhuang, 50, had a strained relationship with her daughter-in-law, Dan “Selina” Lin, 21, who is the mother of a 2-year-old boy.
Zhuang is accused of murdering Lin because she wanted her to son marry a wealthier woman, a court has heard.
The jury heard that Zhuang had previously assaulted the mother of her grandson. In one incident, Zhuang slapped her. In another incident, she cut her hair.

Man Who Planted Bombs In Lagos Has Been Arrested

Yesterday, GistPlanet reported that there was a bomb scare in Lagos, as you read this, a joint team of riot policemen and other security agencies attached to the Lagos Business District (CBD) on Thursday arrested a foreign national said to be a Sudanese for planting bombs to unleash massive terror in Lagos State.
Witnesses said the grenades planted in front of the Union Homes Company gate along Nnamdi Azikwe road, Tom Jones area, opposite Access Bank branch and LSDPC house, was discovered by one of the Police Mobile security man attached to the area.

From what we gathered,the observant police officer became suspicious of a man who earlier came in a Jeep and started distributing N1,000 notes to beggars, and later asked them to vacate the area before he drove off.

MIRACLE : 15-Month-Old Boy Survives After Falling From 11-Storey

A baby is lucky to be alive after surviving an 11-storey fall from a balcony.

Fifteen-month-old Musa Dayib had his miraculous escape after landing on a soft patch of earth, with his doctor describing his survival as a “gift from God”.

The child fell through the railings of his apartment block in the US state of Minnesota and despite breaking both his arms and being put on a ventilator he is expected to make a full recovery.

Dr Tina Slusher told the Star Tribune: “If you and I fell that far, we would be dead.

“He’s a baby and he happened to land on a very small patch of mulchy area. He’s a kid so they tend to be more flexible and pliable than you and I would be.

“Having said that, it’s a real gift from God that he made it because this is a huge fall.”

Musa’s parents are said to be devastated after the shocking accident.

A man was excited to finally meet the woman with whom he was talking over the Internet for many years.

However, the meeting went very bad and the man committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor in a crowded mall.
The man was identified as Roberto Gonzales of the Philippines. Gonzales met the woman in the mall in the city of Lipa, Batangas.
A witness told investigators that she overheard the conversation between the man and the woman before he jumped.
Gonzales asked the woman: “Is that really you? How can that girl be you? You have dark skin. You fooled me for six years!”

11-Year-Old Shoots Grandma In The Head To Stop Her From Reading His Report Card

A woman in Oklahoma said this week that her 11-year-old grandson shot her in the head with her own gun while she was reading an unfavorable school progress report.

Annie Mougell-Walker explained to KOTV that incident had happened after her grandson had trouble at school that day.

“He got in trouble today at school, so when I got home I was gonna talk to him furthermore about it,” she recalled. “Before I could talk to him all I saw was a big bang of a flash and heard it, and I knew I was shot in the back of my head.”

50,000 Gallons of Oil Spills on Los Angeles Street

The Los Angeles Fire Department reports a ruptured oil pipe near Glendale has spilled about 50,000 gallons of crude oil on the streets.

According to a Fire Department release, the leak from a 20-inch pipe was reported around 12:15 a.m. and the oil line was remotely shut off. No injuries were reported.

Oil spilled over approximately half a mile and is knee high in some areas. A handful of commercial businesses are affected.

Cult members kills 20-year-old man in Lagos

 

According to PunchNg, Some suspected cult members have killed a 20-year-old man, Wasiu Jimoh, at Iba New Site, Ojo area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that the incident happened during a tussle for the leadership position of a motorcycle riders association in the area.

Our correspondent learnt that there had been tension in the Aratunmi Motor Park, where the incident happened, over who would become the chairman of the okada riders.

Jimoh, who was a member of the O-YES group, and loyal to a faction, was reportedly attacked around 8.30pm on the fateful day by some hoodlums loyal to a rival group.

It was learnt that the gang members, who wielded various weapons, descended on him, cutting him with machete and hitting him with sticks.
