26- year-old man swept away by flood after trying to save drowning cow

biglawnewsline Reports say a 26- year-old man has been swept away by flood in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The man, identified as Wale Odumosu, was swept away Thursday while trying to save a drowning cow.

Odumosu, a resident of Adefisan area of the town, reportedly tripped, causing him to miss his steps as he attempted to hold the cow’s horns to prevent it from being swept away by a flood caused by heavy downpour.

The chairman of Isope Community Landlords Association, Alhaji Mushafau Osibanjo, said the re-channelisation of the drainage to the area, which had become a subject of controversy, was responsible for the incident.
