21 million Nigerians have mental problems – Expert

21 million Nigerians are currently living with psychiatric disorders, according to an expert.

This disclosure was made by the Medical Director of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital (FNH),Yaba, Lagos, Rahman Lawal.

Dr. Lawal also spoke, in an interview with ThisDay, on the misconceptions surrounding mental illnesses in Nigeria and the incessant strikes by medical professionals in the country.

These days, many ladies in their late 20s and early 30s in churches are all out praying for "a miracle husband" while the men who look ready are praying for "a miracle job".
Pastors should please clear the air on this issue. Is it a SIN for a Christian man who is not a Pastor or Bishop to get married to more than one woman? Some of those men who have everything it takes to have more than one wife are renting houses for girlfriends in secret locations, sleeping with them, and they will still come to church and pretend to be holy, since no one in the church knows what they are doing secretly. Who is fooling who?

If a man marries two wives legitimately and pay their bride price to their families, there is no need to hide. But if you keep a secret girlfriend as a married man, you are committing adult-ery according to what the Bible say... Now the crux of the matter is: these men don't know if their Pastors will approve of them having another wife.

So, the earlier our Pastors address this issue CLEARLY, the sooner Christian men will stop adultery. Once again, go to churches and you will see more single ladies than single guys. Who will marry those ladies?

Police Finds 1,555 Child P¤rn¤graphy Images In Catholic Priest’s College Room

A Catholic priest, Father Stanislaus Hogan, 63, who had 1555 child pornography images, (from 3 months to 16 years old pictures of children) in his bedroom at St Ignatius College in Adelaide where he worked has been charged to court after police found those images in his locked room at the college.
His main interest was in images of boys in the low-to-mid teens, the very age range of children at the school where he was employed. But his lawyer wants the court to forgive him after pleading guilty, stating that he has done a lot of good in his life and he has also made clear his intention to apply to be released from his vows on August 14.

Nigerian Doctors Begin Nationwide Strike

The Nigerian Medical Association yesterday announced the commencement of a nationwide strike today, after Federal Government failed to yield to their request.

The President of the NMA, Dr. Kayode Obembe, during a press briefing in Abuja yesterday said, there was no going back from the strike and it starts today, 1^st of July, 2014.
