Vincent Enyeama Named Africa's Best Player So Far at the World Cup

Our very own Nigerian goal Keeper Vincent Enyeama who has put up an impressive performance at the Ongoing FiFA World Cup finals in Brazil.

His last minute save to deny Edin Dzeko a sure goal as Nigeria beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0 in a Group F game on Sunday is probably his finest moment so far in Brazil. That moment of sheer genius is however just one of many so far provided by the goalkeeper who is currently ranked as the best of all shot-stoppers currently in Brazil by Fifa.

World Cup things : Eagles to arrive in Brazil on Tuesday

The Super Eagles will arrive in Brazil on Tuesday for the 2014 FIFA World Cup scheduled to begin on June 12, the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) said on Monday.
A statement by Ademola Olajire, NFA’s Assistant Director, Communications, said in Abuja that the team would fly aboard an American Airline flight from Miami International Airport.
It said the team would land at the Guarulhos International Airport, Sao Paulo, Brazil before moving to their base, the Hotel Campiness on the outskirts of Sao-Paolo.

According to a list of football stars and legends  in a poll organised by the The Guardian Newspaper  UK Austin Okocha has been named among the greatest FIFA World Cup players of all time , ranked 78th. Brazil’s Edson Arantes do Nascimento( Pele )  is ranked first .
Others in the top 10 are Maradona (2), Franz Beckenbauer (3), Ronaldo da Lima (4), Zinedine Zidane (5), Johan Cruyff (6), Lothar Matthaus (7), Gerd Muller (8),  Garrincha (9) and Michel Platini (10)

Two football fans – 39-year-old Mr. Olusoga Ogunbanjo and 42-year-old Mr. Bambo Sholeye – on Saturday slumped and died in Lagos Island, during the UEFA Champions League final between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. Both were said to be supporters of Real Madrid.

Former Nigeria international Adokiye Amiesimaka has expressed disappointment towards the preparatory level of the Super Eagles for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

According to Metro , Manchester United have banned a loyal fan from attending away games ‘indefinitely’ after he was caught with one can of unopened beer upon entering St James’ Park.
Jamie Bazley claims the can of Stella Artois, which he was carrying along with his United flag, was mistakenly left in his bag following the train journey to Newcastle earlier this month.
He was stopped at the turnstiles and cautioned by police, before being reported to Manchester United.
The club have since written to him, saying: ‘We have been informed by the Police that you were arrested at the above game and subsequently cautioned for possession of alcohol on entry.
