Today, Twitter will begin to introduce a major redesign of user profiles. The look had previously been tested in February and will add more user information and features.
On the new Twitter profile, a larger user photo and customizable header image are among the most prominent features. In a new feature, tweets that have the most interaction (be that favorites or retweets,) will be displayed as slightly larger than others. Additionally, users will be able to pin tweets to the top of the page. Users will also be able to view different timelines, picking between tweets, tweets with photos or videos, or only replies.
All in all, the similarities of this new profile to Facebook are, actually, surprisingly blatant: the square profile photo, the large “cover” image, information of followers/friends appearing below the profile - all factors that are incredibly similar to Facebook’s current look.
As of right now, the only users with the new profile are several celebrities and anyone who makes a new account.Lucky shmendricks.
