The act also reportedly earned them a lunch date the the incumbent and governor-elect of Imo state, Rochas.

Pres. Jonathan Seeks International Help for Rehabilitation of States Affected by Boko Haram

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday requested for international support for his plans to provide socio-economic rehabilitation to north-eastern states that have been affected by Boko Haram.
The President intends to commence rehabilitation efforts as soon as the Boko Haram  insurgency has been substantially curtailed, Vanguard reports.
Jonathan made this request for international assistance when British Minister for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Mark Simmonds, visited him at the Presidential Villa.
Simmonds reassured President Jonathan of Britain’s commitment to giving Nigeria all the necessary assistance to find and safely rescue the kidnapped girls, and assist in the fight against terrorism.
“We are keen to support Nigeria in every possible way and help you overcome present challenges,” he said.

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has called on Nigerians to join her husband in the fight against terrorism.
According to her, “terrorism can defeat anyone including my husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, if he fights alone, because terrorism cannot defeat us collectively.”
She made this clarion call at the 44th Birthday celebration of the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, organized by Mr. Gani Adams, and held in Ikeja, Lagos.
The First Lady, who was represented by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Student matters, Mr. Jude Imagwe, said that addressing the insecurity in the country was a shared responsibility.
