Teacher shaves 14-year-old girl’s armpit in front of other students

 

A teacher has caused outrage after shaving her student’s armpit during class.
The 14-year-old girl was extremely upset when her teacher forced her to shave her armpit to teach her life skills.
Melissa Woods, the mother of 14-year-old Taylah, called the teacher the discuss the issue of shaving her daughter’s armpits in front of two other girls in the classroom.


The teacher responded by saying that it was part of their curriculum to teach the girls proper hygiene. Taylah Woods said that her teacher told her “she would get picked on if she does not do it.”

Taylah woods, who is disabled, attends Wangaratta District Specialist School in Australia. The school prides itself in teaching its students life skills.

However, Woods said that her daughter was forced into shaving against her will and it was done in front of other students, which embarrassed the child.

Taylah Woods has a condition called microcephaly, a neurodevelopmental disorder, as well as ADHD and some learning difficulties.

Melissa Woods asked the school why it was necessary to physically shave the student’s armpits rather than discussing the idea. The teacher insisted that all parents received their curriculum beforehand and this was part of the life skills curriculum.

The principal apologized for not having asked the mother to sign a permission slip before her daughter was shaved.
