Delta state governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has used an Easter address to
warn that a gay cult of teenagers called ‘Yansh’ is operating in his
state
A Nigerian state governor has promised to crack down on a gay teenage ‘cult’ he claims is operating in his state.
Delta state governor Emmanuel Uduaghan made the claims in an Easter address, saying officials had identified a building in Warri that the cult, which he said goes by the name of Yansh, was operating out of.
Uduaghan told worshipers at Warri’s First Baptist Church that gay youths aged 16 to 18 were renting rooms in apartments close to Enerhen Junction and prostituting themselves to men through the cult.
‘These are our sons and men come to sleep with them,’ Uduaghan said, according to Nigerian media.
‘It is through the Edu Marshals Programme that we discovered them. We used to know about female harlots, now we have male harlots. Unfortunately they are young boys. There is much government can do, but there is more we can do as parents.’
Uduaghan urged parents to monitor their children’s activities more closely.
If convicted the teenagers or their customers could potentially spend up to 14 years in jail with possible additional punishments for participating in prostitution and participation in a gay network.
